Alyson Samson is a video journalist based in Fredericton.

Alyson grew up on the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, in Port Union. She attended Memorial University, both in St. John’s, NL and Harlow, UK, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Communication Studies and English Language and Literature.

While Alyson worked at CBC NL in St. John’s as an associate producer, reporter, mobile journalist and online writer, she completed a postgraduate degree in journalism at the College of the North Atlantic.

In 2018, Alyson began working as a reporter in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL for CBC Labrador’s morning show, occasionally acting as a host or technical director.

After her partner’s military posting, Alyson moved to New Brunswick and joined the CTV Atlantic team as a video journalist in Fredericton in the fall of 2020. Alyson is a generalist, with a strong interest in Indigenous-led stories.

Alyson loves good food, good music and traveling, but most of all she loves cuddling with her cat Jupiter and her dog Boris.

Alyson speaks English.
