Calypso Waterpark: Park Reopens After Chemical Odor Closes Park Tuesday

Calypo Waterpark reopened Wednesday after a strong chemical odor forced the park to close Tuesday.

Families visiting the popular attraction were sent home as a precaution Wednesday morning after chlorine was delivered.

“Early this morning, during a routine chlorine delivery, we closed the water park for an inspection after an odor was detected,” a Calypso spokesperson said in a statement to CTV News Tuesday afternoon.

“As always, the safety of our guests, employees and contractors is our top priority.”

Ontario Provincial Police posted on social media site X that they were aware of the unexpected closure and had asked the public to avoid the area due to heavy traffic.

Calypso is located approximately 45 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.
