1 dead, 3 seriously injured in 2-vehicle collision in Saskatoon

Police say a woman has died after a two-vehicle crash in Saskatoon Tuesday night. Three other people were taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police said in a news release Wednesday morning that they were called to the scene of the crash on Quebec Avenue, near 39th Street East, shortly after 6 p.m. CST.

A truck was traveling “at a high rate of speed” when it collided with an SUV, police said.

They said the four people in the SUV were taken to hospital in critical condition. One of the passengers, a 22-year-old woman, died at the hospital.

A 23-year-old man, who police say was driving the truck, has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing death and three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

According to police, the driver was not under the influence.

They also said the police’s serious crimes unit is investigating.
