Three Alberta residents finished in the top three places in Saddle Bronc at the Calgary Stampede on Tuesday afternoon.

It was the second day of Pool B and Kolby Wanchuck from Sherwood Park scored 88.00 to take first place of the day. He is also first in the overall standings.

Dawson Dahm (Duffield, AB) rode Mary Lou to a score of 87.50, while Lucas Macza of High River earned a score of 86.50 for third place.

Macza is now tied for second place in the overall standings, while Dahm is in fifth place. The final third round of Pool B will take place next Wednesday afternoon.

As for Bareback, the only Canadian and Albertan in Pool B is Ty Taypotat from Nanton. He managed to hold on for 8 seconds, but only managed a 72.00 and is well behind on the day and is in 9th place overall.

Bull Riders also had a tough day, with the exception of Jared Parsonage (Maple Creek, SK) who tied for first place with a score of 84.00. Coy Robbins of Camrose and Jordan Hansen (Amisk, AB and formerly of Okotoks) were both thrown out. Parsonage is now tied for third overall.

In Tie-Down Roping, Stettler’s Beau Cooper posted a time of 7.8 seconds for fourth place on the day and moved up to sixth overall. Cooper is the only Canadian in Pool B.

And in Ladies Barrel Racing, fan favorite Lynette Brodoway of Brooks only managed an 8th place finish, while Blake Molle (Chauvin, AB) finished in 9th place.

There are no Canadians competing in the bull wrestling in Pool B.

And in Novice Saddle Bronc there were some good performances from Albertans. Devon Hay (Wildwood) rode to a score of 73.00 for 2nd place on the day as Clay Greenslade (Strathmore) was thrown off.
