Etihad brings Airbus A350 to Toronto route

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, will operate a daily flight to Toronto Pearson Airport from October 27 with its Airbus A350.

“The Airbus A350 sets new standards for air travel, with increased efficiency and comfort. The introduction of the A350 in Toronto is in line with our strategy to meet growing customer demand and expand our network,” said Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer.

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the Airbus A350 is one of the world’s most efficient aircraft types, using 25% less fuel and emitting 25% less CO2 than previous models. The aircraft also features Etihad’s latest cabin interior.

The elevated Business Class features 44 Business Studios, offering each guest greater privacy in their suite. In addition to the forward position with direct aisle access, each Business Class seat is designed for maximum comfort and converts into a fully flat 79-inch bed with ample storage space for convenience. Noise-cancelling headphones and an 18.5-inch TV screen provide a cinematic experience to enjoy Etihad’s extensive inflight entertainment offering. Business seats are cleverly equipped with a built-in wireless charging pad and Bluetooth headset pairing.

Business Class guests can also choose from a carefully curated à la carte menu or Etihad’s signature ‘dine anytime’ service.

Also on October 27, Etihad will increase its non-stop flight service between Boston and Abu Dhabi from four flights a week to once a day, giving North American business and leisure travelers more choice and flexibility when planning trips to the UAE and beyond to the Gulf region and the Indian subcontinent. The route will use Etihad’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with 28 seats in Business and 262 seats in Economy.

“Our Boston service continues to perform strongly, with our flights nearly full since our first flight to Boston in March,” said De. “Having already served record passenger numbers, we are excited to further invest in the North American market by expanding our flight frequency from Boston ahead of the winter peak season.”

The service to Boston has been designed to provide business and leisure travellers with convenient connections to Etihad’s growing network, which includes connections to destinations in the UAE, the Gulf region and the airline’s 11 direct routes to India.
