When David Marskell, CEO of TheMuseum in Kitchener, walked through Kitchener’s burgeoning downtown six years ago – a world of tower cranes and excavators, gleaming skyscrapers and futuristic light rail – he was filled with optimism.

“Kitchener has passed the tipping point,” he declared after the city’s gritty core struggled for years to reinvent itself.
