Police have arrested a second man in connection with a shooting at a home in Cambridge earlier this month.

Officers arrested the man around 2 a.m. Wednesday at a home near Mcgee Avenue and Ottawa Street North in Kitchener.

One resident who did not want to speak on camera told CTV News she was frightened to see such a large police presence, including an armored vehicle, in her neighborhood.

“My friend texted me, told me there were cops outside, sent me a picture of a tactical unit,” she said. “I didn’t know it was a tactical unit, I honestly thought it was a bomb squad or something — it was dark, it was really scary.”

Waterloo Regional Police said in a news release that the 24-year-old man has been charged with several firearms offenses in connection with the Jan. 5 shooting at a home in Cambridge.

Shots were fired at a house on Sekura Street at around 3:45 a.m. that day while the residents were inside. Some of the shots hit the front door, as well as a glass panel on the side of the entrance. No one was injured.

On January 19, another man, a 23-year-old from Kitchener, was arrested in connection with the same shooting.

Police said on Wednesday that no other suspects are being sought.
