According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, no one was injured in the fire that broke out in a basement apartment Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Confederation Place apartment just before 10 a.m., according to a news release. The first crews to arrive saw smoke coming from a downstairs suite. They ran hoses and entered the apartment to extinguish the flames. They then set up fans to help clear the smoke from the building.

According to the fire department, all those present were evacuated safely and no one was injured during the operation.

A fire investigator will arrive on scene to determine the cause of the fire and assess the damage.
