Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford to Host BC Amateur Championship

The event takes place from July 9 to 12 and will feature 156 golfers from across British Columbia.

The 122nd running of the British Columbia Amateur Golf Championship gets underway today (July 9) at Ledgeview Golf Course in Abbotsford.

A practice round took place yesterday (July 8) and the four-day competition will see competitors play 72 holes, with the field being whittled down to the top 70 after day two. Rounds will take place today, tomorrow (July 10), Thursday (July 11) and Friday (July 12).

The event will feature 156 golfers from across British Columbia.


The 2023 champion was Cooper Humphreys of Vernon and he is back to defend his title in 2024. He shot a -14 (274) over last year’s four-day event in Parksville. Delta golfers Jace Minni and John Morrow, who finished second and third respectively last year, are also both back for 2024.

Ledgeview never hosted the event alone, but did so in conjunction with Pitt Meadows Golf Club in 1988. Chilliwack hosted the event as early as 1992.

Participating golfers from Abbotsford include: Andrew Biggar, Ryan Burns, Tarundeep Chadha, Owen Crockett, Kyle Gerard, Eli Greene, Nick Guenther, James Hull, Hayden Lazeo, Conner Piers and MacLaren Smith.

The participating golfers from Chilliwack are: Maxim McKenzie, Richard Smith and Alex Walker.
