Two men have been found guilty of murdering a 20-year-old man in a row over an electric bike. Abbas Jean-Pierre, 20, and Shakur Idan, 21, were convicted of fatally stabbing Hamed Mani in Harrow, west London, on August 9.

Idan approached Mr Mani and his friends at St George’s Shopping Centre, Harrow-on-the-Hill. A struggle ensued when Idan rode towards them on his electric bike, prosecutor Caroline Carberry KC said.

No one was injured but Idan’s bicycle was seized and a member of Mr Mani’s group showed him he had a knife, the court was told.

Ms Carberry said: “Although Idan was alone at the time, he was not deterred from following the group of five as they ran away from him. Idan failed to call police to ask for help in recovering his electric bike and to report that he had been shown a knife.

“Instead, he called for reinforcements in the form of his friend, the second suspect, Jean-Pierre.”

The jury heard that Jean-Pierre had arrived with a machete in a sheath and a Rambo-style knife.

As Idan ran towards Mr. Mani’s group, he shouted at his friend Jean-Pierre to “wet him,” which was slang for stabbing someone
