NB news: 25-year-old man arrested after alleged sexual assault

A 25-year-old man, originally from India but residing in Halifax, NS, has been arrested following alleged incidents of sexual abuse in Moncton.

Officers responded to a report of sexual harassment and assault at a public water park on Mountain Road in Moncton on Sunday around 2 p.m., according to an RCMP news release.

A man was walking around the building and groping people, police said. There were at least 12 victims, some of whom were under the age of 16.

RCMP said they located and arrested the person still on the property. He was later released and is scheduled to appear in Moncton County Court on Oct. 24.

“This is still an ongoing investigation and we are working diligently to identify any additional victims,” ​​Codiac Regional RCMP Sgt. Sylvette Hebert said in the release. “We are asking parents to talk to their children if they were at this location on July 7. We also want people to know that a sexual assault complaint can be filed at any time. If you are a victim of sexual misconduct, please contact us. You will be heard and believed.”
