Trial of former Orlando city commissioner Regina Hill postponed until September

ORLANDO, Florida. – An Orange County judge granted a delay Tuesday in the criminal trial of former Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill.

Hill was arrested in March after she was accused of stealing more than $100,000 from a 96-year-old woman and using the woman’s name to get a mortgage on a house.

Governor Ron DeSantis (Republican of Florida) suspended Hill a week after her arrest.

Hill denies any wrongdoing.

During a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, her attorney asked the court to postpone Hill’s trial, which was set to begin July 22.

The Public Prosecution Service did not object, after which Judge Michael Kraynick granted the postponement.

Hill’s next preliminary hearing is set for September 17, and her trial is now scheduled for the week of September 30.
