Police have raided a newsagent’s in downtown Halifax after receiving multiple reports of drugs being sold in the store.

Four arrests were made and a quantity of controlled drugs and illegal vapes were seized by West Yorkshire Police. Police posted a message about the incident on social media today (Tuesday 9 July).



Firefighters were called to assist in breaking open the safe, which yielded more controlled drugs and supporting evidence. Police released footage of the safe being broken into.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Crime and anti-social behaviour are intrinsically linked to drugs and cause many problems in our communities. Your local NPT will tackle and not tolerate the sale of illegal drugs and the resulting crime and anti-social behaviour.
