Tuesday will remain warm and humid as Ottawa braces for possible major storms on Wednesday and Thursday.

Environment Canada’s forecast for Tuesday is for 29 degrees Celsius, with a wind chill of 37 degrees Celsius due to humidex. There is a 30 percent chance of showers in the late morning and afternoon, with a chance of thunderstorms.

Tonight it will be partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers in the evening. There is a chance of thunderstorms.

Environment Canada issued a special weather warning for eastern and southern Ontario on Monday, warning that the remnants of Hurricane Beryl could potentially bring “downpours” of between 20 and 40 mm of rain per hour.

“While there is little confidence in the exact track of the weather system, these types of systems have historically produced very high precipitation amounts in the form of downpours,” Environment Canada said.

Storms are expected to move across the region Tuesday night or Wednesday and continue through Thursday.

The weather system is expected to bring some relief from the heat. The weather forecast for Wednesday shows a high of 22 C with humidex values ​​that will make it feel like 30 C.

Rain is expected to continue on Thursday, with periods of rain and a maximum temperature of 24 °C.
