3 vehicles set on fire in Montreal’s RDP neighbourhood

Early Tuesday morning, two cars and a van were set on fire in the eastern part of the Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles borough of Montreal.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call about the incident on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard at 1:15 a.m.

“Police officers on patrol saw a car on fire in a commercial parking lot,” explained Montreal police spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc.

She says firefighters were called to extinguish the flames and found an incendiary bomb at the scene.

“There is no damage to property in the area,” Dubuc said.

No suspects have yet been arrested.

The case has been turned over to the Montreal police arson unit.
