Regina police have made a major dent in drug trafficking in the city, following an investigation that led to the seizure of an estimated $1.3 million worth of narcotics.

The drug squad’s operation in Regina led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man on July 4.

Officers made traffic stops and seized small amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cash and other evidence of drug trafficking.

Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at a rental home at 4600 Mutrie Crescent.

The search resulted in the seizure of six kilograms of fentanyl, more than five kilograms of methamphetamine, almost a kilogram of cocaine and approximately $14,000 in cash.

The 20-year-old man from India faces four charges: one count of possession of each type of seized drug and one count of possession of property obtained by crime valued at more than $5,000.

He first appeared in court on Friday, July 5.
