The Vancouver Chinatown Festival returns for its 22nd year and will take place daily from July 13-14 from 12pm-6pm.

What is it: It’s a free, two-day community event filled with performances, food trucks, vendors, tours, and more!

  • Enjoy dishes from all over the world at the food trucks.
  • See live performances including cultural dances, an orchestra, a Science World stage show, taiko drumming, tap dancing and a regimental marching band.
  • Bring the little ones to the children’s corner for an interactive lion dance workshop, funfair games, face painting, balloon twisting, T-shirt painting and much more.
  • A children’s theater with demonstrations and performances of lion dances, sing-along moments, meetings with Marvel superheroes, magic shows and much more.
  • Play mahjong, a popular traditional Chinese game, learn how to make lanterns from red envelopes, take a tour of this historic district and much more!

If you go: The Vancouver Chinatown Festival takes place on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, each day from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Keefer and Columbia Streets.

How to get there: Take public transport, walk or hike as parking is limited.

  • The nearest SkyTrain station is the Expo Line’s Stadium–Chinatown Station. The 3, 8, 19, 22 are among the many bus lines that run through Chinatown.
