EDMONTON — Heat warnings have been issued across Alberta and much of central and northern Saskatchewan.

According to Environment Canada, temperatures in the two Prairie provinces will reach at least 30 degrees Celsius, while in some parts of Alberta temperatures will even reach 35 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Major cities set to be hit by the extreme heat include Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon.

Much heat is also expected in southern Saskatchewan, with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees in Regina all week.

High temperature warnings have been issued in many parts of British Columbia in recent days.

Temperatures could rise above 40 degrees this week in parts of British Columbia’s southern interior and the Northeast, according to Environment Canada.
