Leighanne Evans joined the CTV Kitchener team in May 2018, holding various roles before taking on her current role as weekend presenter and videographer.

Leighanne holds a degree in Kinesiology from Saint Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. Her love of health, fitness and sports, combined with storytelling, eventually led her to choose a different career path. She then attended the College of Sports Media in Toronto, Ontario, where she earned a degree in Radio & Television Sports Broadcasting.

Her career began with the Toronto Blue Jays as an in-game and event host, before moving to Thunder Bay where she was the 6pm and 11pm weekday anchor before joining CTV Kitchener.

Leighanne was born in St. John’s, NL, and grew up in Cole Harbour, NS, where her parents and many lifelong friends still reside. More than anything, she enjoys going home to spend time with her friends and family.

Leighanne rescued her pup, Ruby, from the Guelph Humane Society, whom she met on location for a story she was working on. In her free time, you can find her hiking with Ruby, spending time with friends in the outdoors, exercising, and traveling.

She speaks English and understands French.
