Lockdown lifted at 3 schools in Kitchener, Conestoga College after reports of man with gun

Lockdowns have been lifted at three schools in Kitchener and at Conestoga College’s Doon campus.

Doon Public School, Pioneer Park Public School, St. Timothy Catholic Elementary School and the Doon campus of Conestoga College are all located in the area of ​​200 Old Carriage Drive in Kitchener, where police said they received reports of a man walking outside with a gun.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) asked residents to stay indoors and avoid the area. Officers blocked off nearby roads and trails, but have since reopened the roads and say there is no known threat to public safety at this time.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

A vehicle belonging to the Brantford Police K9 unit was also seen in the area on Wednesday morning.
