Vancouver Luxury Real Estate: Historic Church For Sale For $10 Million

Vancouver Luxury Real Estate: Historic Church For Sale For Million

A nearly century-old church in one of Vancouver’s most desirable neighborhoods is for sale.

Built in 1927, West Point Grey Presbyterian Church stands on three residential lots in the heart of the West Point Grey neighborhood between Jericho Beach and Pacific Spirit Regional Park.

The property, located at 4397 West 12th Ave., is being advertised as a large multiplex development opportunity. (Colliers Canada)

According to Colliers Canada, the church building was expanded in 1940 to its current size of approximately 10,000 square feet (930 square meters) on two floors. It includes a 200-person church building, several preschools, offices, kitchens and a lounge.

The real estate company is presenting the property, located at 4397 West 12th Ave., as an opportunity for a major multiplex development.

With an asking price of $10 million for all three lots, current zoning would allow for three single-family homes, a multiplex development with up to 12 homes, a restoration of the existing heritage building, or a combination of the three.

“The property presents a rare opportunity to acquire a large multiplex development site in the sought-after West Point Grey neighborhood,” the listing states.

The congregation of West Point Grey Presbyterian Church merged with Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church last month after a final ceremony.

The church grounds are located across from Vancouver’s historic Fire Station No. 19, three blocks south of the Point Grey Village shopping area on West 10th Avenue.
