The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is warning the public of a robbery on the Mundy Pond hiking trail near Ropewalk Lane. (CBC – photo credit)

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, a man robbed someone walking on the path around Mundy Pond in St. John’s Monday morning.

The incident occurred at around 11:30am at the end of the pond, near Ropewalk Lane. An RNC spokesman said the suspect fled towards Blackler Avenue.

He is described as being about six feet tall, heavyset and dressed in dark clothing. His face was at least partially covered.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, including video footage from the area between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
