Ottawa Jazz Festival

The sounds of jazz will fill Confederation Park, Marion Dewar Plaza and the National Arts Centre this weekend.

The Ottawa Jazz Festival runs until Sunday.

Here’s a rundown of some of the acts:

  • Friday: Laufey, Kellylee Evans, Chuck Copenace, Butcher Brown
  • Saturday: Norah Jones, James McGowan Ensemble (free), Linsey Wellman’s Wedding and Funeral Band (free), Laura Anglade, Le Ren, La Lom
  • Sunday: Veronica Swift, Emma Lamontagne (free), Lakecia Benjamin, The Rafael Zaldivar Trio, The Yussef Dayes Experience.

Atletico Ottawa

Atletico Ottawa hosts Forge FC on Friday night at TD Place.

It is a night to honor the Canadian military during the game.

Ottawa Titans

The Ottawa Titans host the New Jersey Jackals this weekend for a three-game series at the Ottawa Baseball Stadium.

The playing times are Friday 6:30 PM, Saturday 6:00 PM and Sunday 1:00 PM.

Friday night is the pre-Canada Day celebrations, with fireworks after the game.

The Ottawa BlackJacks host the Calgary Surge at TD Place on Saturday night.

Celebrate the start of summer this weekend at the Kanata Fun Fair.

RCMP Sunset Ceremonies

The RCMP’s Canadian Sunset Ceremonies continue through Sunday at the Musical Ride Centre on Sandridge Road.

This annual event celebrates the RCMP’s Musical Ride and gives visitors the chance to experience the Musical Ride in their own homes.

The family-friendly shows start at 7pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and are free to the public.

NCC Cycling Days

The National Capital Commission Weekend Bikedays run all weekend long.

Roads will be closed to vehicles along the Ottawa River and the Rideau Canal for active transportation. Here’s a look at the schedule for Saturday, Sunday and Canada Day.

  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway, between Fifth Avenue and Somerset Street – 8am to 8pm
  • Kichi Zībī Mīkan, westbound lanes between Vimy Place and Carling Avenue – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, between Aviation Parkway and St. Joseph Boulevard – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Starting on Canada Day, Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed to vehicles 24 hours a day between Somerset Street and Pretoria Avenue.

Parliament: the immersive experience

Discover the main Parliament Building, also known as Center Block, in this new, innovative experience.

Parliament: The Immersive Experience at 211 Sparks Street includes an exhibition and a 360-degree multimedia show that takes you on a tour of Center Block, which has been closed since 2019.

The self-guided tour lasts 45 minutes.

1000 Islands Regatta

This weekend, Brockville hosts the 1000 Islands Regatta and Festival.

Canada Day in Kingston

The Canada Day festivities will be held on Sunday at the Stewart Community Centre in Pakenham and on Monday at Gemmill Park in Almonte.

The Canada Day Eve Parade will be held in Pakenham on Sunday evening.

Monday’s Canada Day festivities include music, including Monkey Junk, and a fun zone for the kids.

Canada Day in Renfrew

On Monday, Canada Day events will be held at Ma-te-Way Park and the myFM Centre in Renfrew.

The event includes live music, family-friendly activities and fireworks.

Arnprior will host several Canada Day events on Monday, including a bike parade, live music, family entertainment and more.
